when I can create again, then…
This body of work came out of a deeply hard year of loss and transformation. Created during a period when I was undergoing chemotherapy, and my home country is being bombed, it reflects the profound sense of displacement and battles, outside and within myself. As I grappled with the loss of my physical and emotional homes, I began to explore the fragility of body, identity and belonging.
I used once-familiar items around me, such as cups, plates, clothes, and pillows, to represent a life disrupted.
Embroidery, clay and hair.
