Hi! My name is Jeanine and I am a visual artist from Beirut, Lebanon. In 2019, I moved to Bergen to pursue a Masters in Graphic Design, and this city is (slowly) becoming my home.
My work is multidisciplinary and includes drawing, digital painting, audio, video, comics, performance, etc.
I have a B.A. in Fine Arts from the Lebanese University and a Masters in Visual Arts from the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts (ALBA).
In Lebanon, I was a lecturer at ALBA and at RHU universities where I taught the History of Art and History of Visual Communication, among other subjects.
I worked as Junior Artist at Wixel Studios, a gaming company where I created game illustration and concept art. I also worked as a freelance illustrator for Leo Burnett where I created storyboards and ad concept design. I also freelanced in illustration and animation where I worked on storyboards, children’s books, comics, infographics, 2D animation, etc.
I am the co-founder of Space 27, a feminist artist-run space where the collective of artists aims to use art as a tool for social change.
In Norway, I continue to freelance in illustration and animation, as well as give workshops in making comics and drawing.
I am also on the board of the Arabisk Film Fest, an independent festival in Bergen that showcases films from the Arab speaking world.
